TatCheck is built to need as little of your data as possible. No account, no ads, no tracking.

Photos

When you scan an item, your photo is sent securely to our server, where an AI model identifies the item and estimates its resale value. Photos are processed in memory and are not stored, logged, or retained on our servers after your scan completes. Photos you save to your Inventory are stored only on your device.

What we do collect

• An anonymous install identifier — a random code created when you first open the app. It is sent with each scan solely to enforce fair-use limits (scans per day) and is not linked to your name, email, or any other identity. Deleting the app deletes it.
• Scan counts — we record how many scans each anonymous identifier performs per day. Nothing about the content of your scans is stored.

What we never collect

• No name, email, or account details (there are no accounts)
• No location data
• No advertising identifiers, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs
• No contact lists, no browsing history

Your inventory and quiz answers

Items you save, prices you enter, and your onboarding answers stay in the app's local storage on your phone. They are not transmitted to us. Deleting the app deletes them.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see your payment details. Manage or cancel any time in Settings ▸ Apple ID ▸ Subscriptions.

Third-party services

Scans are processed using Anthropic's Claude API (image analysis) and, where available, eBay's public listings API (market comparisons). Photos pass through these services to produce your result and are subject to their processing terms; we do not permit them to be used for advertising.
